How to log in or register in CTC-VIS
A plain-English summary based on CARB's CTC-VIS user guide. Screens can change, so CARB's guide is the final word.
First time? Create your account
- Open the official portal. Go to cleantruckcheck.arb.ca.gov and choose the option to create an account (Entity or Tester account). Truck owners and fleets create an entity account.
- Use an email you can check. Your full email address becomes your username, so pick one you'll keep using.
- Enter your owner / company information. Choose the correct entity type (for example, individual or company) and make sure everything is accurate.
- Certify and submit. Check the box confirming the information is correct, then submit.
- Activate from your email. CARB sends an email from "CARB Admin" with a link to activate your account and create your password. If it doesn't arrive, CARB's guide says to contact hdim@arb.ca.gov.
- Add your vehicles. Add each truck by VIN. The VIN must match your DMV registration, or you could face a DMV registration hold.
- Pay CARB's annual compliance fee. You pay CARB directly in the portal by card or e-check. Card payments carry a processing fee.

- Go to cleantruckcheck.arb.ca.gov and click Log In. You'll be sent to CARB's secure sign-in page.
- Enter your username (your full email) and password.
- Forgot your password? Use the "Forgot password?" link. If you still get an error, CARB's guide says to email hdim@arb.ca.gov and include the email address on the account.

Clean Truck Check login & setup FAQ
Where do I log in to Clean Truck Check?
The official portal is CARB's CTC-VIS website at cleantruckcheck.arb.ca.gov. Clicking Log In takes you to CARB's sign-in page. We are not CARB and we do not run that website.
How much does Clean Truck Check account setup cost?
Setup only is $40. If you book a Clean Truck Check test with us, setup is FREE. CARB's annual compliance fee is paid to CARB separately and is not part of our price.
Is account setup really free if I book a test?
Yes. Book any mobile Clean Truck Check test with us (OBD2 $79 or OVI $180) and we'll help set up your CTC-VIS account at no extra charge. (Separately, if your truck fails the test, a $20 trip fee applies.)
Do you charge a travel fee to come to my yard?
Our mobile service in Orange County has no travel fee when your truck passes the test. If your truck fails the test, a $20 trip fee applies. The test price is the same whether your yard is in Anaheim, Irvine, Huntington Beach or anywhere else in OC.
What username does CTC-VIS use?
According to CARB's user guide, you register with a valid email address you can access, and that full email address becomes your username.
I forgot my CTC-VIS password. What should I do?
Use the "Forgot password?" link on CARB's sign-in page. If you get an error, CARB's guide says to email hdim@arb.ca.gov and include the email address on the account. We can also walk you through it by phone.

Are you CARB?
No. We are a private business and a CARB Clean Truck Check Credentialed Tester. The CTC-VIS portal and the compliance fee belong to the California Air Resources Board.
